Light from the Oldest Place (2024)
Bell pepper skins, leek roots, tissue paper, egg shells, wire, acorns, acorn caps, soil anointed and adorned over a found object/
8 in x 8 in x 20 in (20 x 20 x 49 cm)
The bell pepper skins come off easily after the slow and long roasting process, which I symbolically link to the death of ego (the concept of time) and transformation. The work connects the past, present, and future through the warm compassionate orange light filtered through bell pepper skins.

Elixir of Life (2024)
Dead cat ashes, crab claw, fungi, bell pepper skins, coffee grinds, pistachio shells, artist's hair

Funeral of the Bee (2024)
The project encapsulates the gardening experience with my father and responds to the joy of seeing the first pollinator, who traditionally represents the symbol of Life and renewal. Yet bees have been considered endangered animals in recent years. I respond to my two conflicting emotional states that can feel like eco-anxiety.
